Do you need a specific toner cartridge?

Oct 10 2011

Shopping for toner is always an expensive and time consuming process, one that most company employees do not relish. However, the rewards which come with finding a great deal on the HP, Dell, Epson, or Okidata toner cartridges that you need for personal use or for the use of your company can make a significant impact. Doing a good job is the best way to get noticed no matter what your position, and the rewards from simply tracking down a great deal online can be thrilling—but only if you know how.

First of all, consider what it is you are searching for. When you are on eBay, Amazon, Google, or any other online marketplace, make sure you use specificity to your full advantage. Search for the brand of cartridge (Epson, Xerox, HP), followed by the make and model of the specific printer. Or, if possible, search for the specific cartridge number. By entering the number you ensure that you will find results which are a perfect match to your needs.

Also, you should make sure that your search location includes large scale search engines like Google and Yahoo (shopping), large online marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, etc…), and weighty online retailers which can be easily located with general searches. Each has their advantages. The search engines are good for obtaining a general picture of the industry. The marketplaces excel at driving down prices for small orders, but may result in substandard product. Large retailers face their own competition, and are geared towards giving people deals on large orders of ink and toner.
