LED Bulbs for Modern Appliances

Sep 15 2011

In most modern world nations a fascinating shift is occurring as traditional light bulbs are being replaced by more energy efficient bulbs, including LEDs. An LED appliance bulb is a surprisingly rewarding choice over the traditional style, as old light bulbs are highly inefficient, wasting over 95% of the energy they use as heat instead of light. True, the average light bulb doesnt take that much power and the more exotic LED is more expensive up front, but the efficiency may prove to be the important thing over time. While this may seem like a numbers game, and actually is, figuring out things like efficiency and long term usage when it comes to power is incredibly important and can wind up taking a potentially large expense and reducing it drastically. Switching to LEDs can be a fantastic investment, and one sure to pan out.

Think about it. Every second a normal light bulb is on it is drinking power and heating its surroundings with the vast portion of its power. In fixtures, outdoors, overhead, in the bathroom… All that energy wasted. LED lights in all of those places sip power in comparison, releasing less energy as heat and therefore using much less power to light the same space. Over time LEDs save money, power, and are also good for the environment accordingly. Plus they last much much longer than a traditional bulb and can be more easily integrated in devices running off solar power. They can also save money in unexpected places. Every socket counts and so LED appliance bulbs, replacing traditional fixtures in locations which are often forgotten, may be worth remembering.
